For decades, manufacturers of sugar and molasses made this region a very wealthy place. Among them was the highlight Monguaba Plant, owned by the richest family in Greenville and traditional, the Mendonça and Albuquerque.
It all starts when Eulalia, the heiress of Monguaba, falls for cane cutter Ze Leandro, who lives with an intense romance. However, she is still waiting for Joe Leandro. On the other hand, Mary Haughty, wife of Pedro Afonso, humiliates Tybalt, saying that a stranger without a penny is not worth approaching a Mendonça and Albuquerque. Tybalt vows revenge. Pedro Alfonso, gambling addict, owes money to several people who signed promissory notes.
One day, Joe Leandro returns, ready to flee with Eulalia and Helena with them and start a new life with a fortune in gems that manage to gather to work in mining. After combining the flight, Helen teaches the value of land, which she will never forget. However, the fleeing boat sinks and drowns Ze Leandro. Eulalia also died, asking you to trust Helen Theobald, who got rich.

Synopsis
Greenville - fictional town on the coast of northeastern Brazil, built in the image of old England, due to the influence of the British, long before there had built the Great Western Railway.
