assignment to work as prison guards and force protection for Camp Bucca. The 886 ESFS is trained in the United States of America, but is mobilized to leave with as little as a month's notice of assignment.

On 3 May 2008 the 886th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron was deactivated and remaining 886th personnel were transferred to the 586th ESFS which is in charge of Force Protection for Camp Bucca.
