Operations

Activated at Hamilton AFB, California a placement unit. Absorbed personnel and equipment of 101st Fighter-Interceptor Wing (Maine ANG) which inactivated after federal service, and 82nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron of 78th Fighter-Interceptor Wing which inactivated 6 February 1952. Inactivated and components merged into 4702nd Defense Wing.
