. It was founded by electronica/hip-hop artist/producer JSL (Joshua Lexvold) and is operated by both Joshua and a small staff. According to the label, since its inception in 2003, 301Studios has taken a business model cue from successful independent labels such as Amphetamine Reptile, Ipecac Records and Wax Trax!, by focusing on artist development rather than searching out ready-made or top-40 style radio-friendly artists.

  • Antifreeze Radio: As hosted/DJ'd by JSL. Originally broadcasting every Thursday evening via Discotheque Radio based in Brazil, Antifreeze showcases new and independent electronica and hip-hop. New episodes are currently broadcast the first of every month via 301studios.net.

  • TheFutureOfMusic compilation series: Initially scheduled to be a compilation series showcasing Twin Cities electronica and hip-hop artists, the series was put on hold indefinitely after the 2005 release of TheFutureOfMusic I: Electronic.
