The competition will start on 31 August 2011, and will conclude with Final on May 16, 2012.

The winner of the competition will qualify for the second qualifying round of the 2012–13 UEFA Europa League

Preliminary round

A preliminary round was held in order to reduce the number of teams competing in the next round to 32 and featured 14 teams from Serbian lower divisions. The matches were played on 31 August 2011.

Finals

Two winners from semi-final encounters take place in the finals. The game is scheduled for May 16, 2012, on a neutral venue. The venue for the finals is still unknown, and for the first time in a long time, the football association allowed venues, other than Red Star's and Partizan's, to apply for hosting the finals. It is still unknown whether any stadium, other than fore mentioned, submitted a subscription for hosting the game.
