(NBA). The Blazers finished 40–42, sixth in the Western Conference, qualifying for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive year.
Despite their losing record, the Blazers were the only team to defeat the eventual NBA champion Boston Celtics
at the Boston Garden
during the regular season; the Celtics went 40–1 at home, a record still unmatched as of 2011.
