I am currently working on a fictional novel. In my novel there is life on every planet and every moon and so on and so on. In the opening of my novel one of the main characters is checking the time. Well heres my problem... how would I tell time on Pluto by Pluto's time and not by Earth time??

I ask you what are some of your opinions. How could I tell time by Pluto's time???

I tried this once. First the best approximation of the revolution period of the planet would reference the year. Secondly (to this sideral period) a synodic point of congruence with another cyclical event somehow relevant to Pluto's... maybe, you suggest the motion of it's second body?
