Are we sure that 'thou' was pronounced to rhyme with 'cow'?
I wonder because of the pronunciation of 'you', of German 'du', French 'tu' and 'thu' (in Anglo-Saxon spelt with a 'thorn'). I would love to know what experts think about this.
