In certain applications a Downhole packer is used to ISOLATE a zone or to reduce the effects of cross contamination from a lower or upper zone from getting into the PRODUCING oil sands.Packers are used in a wide variety of oil field applications as well as Gas producing wells,to make the extraction of the minerals more efficient,and less costly for the production companies that use this type of technology.
