There were many factors for the fll of the Roman Empire. The obvious are the Barbarian invasions, but one of the silent killers of not just Romans but of many civilizations around the Mediteranian Sea is Malaria. Around 450 AD to 550 AD Many towns and villages had to mave inland away from the water's edge. Thousands of deaths have been attributed to Malaria after Antropologists tested the remains of ancient graves found in cemetaries along the coastal villages and towns of Italy. The Romans had no defense for this decease. Hope this helps you somewhat.
