We found a painted turtle and want to know how long it can live in captivity?
We fed it raw hamburg ..what else can we feed him and any extra help would be apreciated.

We found a painted also this summer and we went to a pet shop and she asked us if we were going to let it go when it got older and we said yes so she told us to feed him freezed dried shrimp so that is his basic diet with some live mesquitos, flys, moths when they were available. Hope that helps but I understand tney do eat some vegetation also,
