No Anne Marbury Hutchinson was not a native american. She was primarily of British ancestry and of Royal descent from Princess, Joan daughter of King, Edward I of England and Queen, Eleanor of Castile.

Anne was born in England and emigrated to the to Massachusetts colony in 1634 together with other puritans because of their religoius beliefs. She was way ahead of her time in her belief that you do not need the church to have a relationship with GOD and also believed in equal rights for women and native americans as well. This did not sit well with the religious leaders in the colony, however, she did not back down in her beliefs causing her to be banished from the Massachusetts colony. After the trial, she and her family (also supporters) later removed to Rhode Island in 1638.

They resided in R.I. until her husband William Hutchinson later died in 1642. Next she moved on to the vicinity of Eastchester Bay, then part of New Netherland which is now known as the Bronx in New York City. During this time the local Native Americans were fighting with the Dutch, and in 1643, she and all of her family who followed her, except her youngest daughter, were killed there by a group of Native Americans who came calling in a friendly manner, and then suddenly turned on their unsuspecting victims.

Anne is my 10th Great-Grandmother.
