WHAT HAPPEN AND WHAT YEAR DID IT START

The british and colonists fought against eachother and while the british were on a stroll the colonists ambushed them. eventually the brtish gave up and surrendered. the colonists(american's) wound up winning simply becasue of the element of surprise and we (American's) out numbered them.
