Hi guys!

I am new to seismology, but i am very interested in earthquake prediction. I read that the main idea of prediction algorithms, is to compose few or more or less seismic premonirory patterns (of cource we need parameters of patterns and the algorithm).
Now i am writing a library (software) which aims to make proccess of discovering seismic premonitory patterns and their parameters more efficient. For now it can estimate a simillarity of a seismic activity preceding to a big earthquake. But it's only a beginning.
I would like to now your ideas (opinions), about what pattern recognition techniques should i add in it, or other techniques. What know patterns should i add in it (to estimate their effective parameters). Maybe should i use other techniques.
Any ideas?

Gamlet,

I am new to this forum. If you look at my posting 11/12/12 you'll find a different way to pin down 6.5> events. The San Andreas is very researched. So the info covered in "Professional Paper 1515" (actually a large book) put out in 1989 I think has a lot of good info though dated. Hope this helps. Eqtwain
