My saffron started blooming last week and I have already dried much if it. I'm in the Massachusetts, USA area.

This is my first season and quantity is very good. I noticed the stigma are very short when dry, much shorter than store bought saffron.

Is this normal? Is there a way to increase the size of the stigma for next season?
