Is calvary chapel chruches a cult?

It sometimes seems that way. I grew up in a church who called them selves Calvary Gospel. They spoke in tounges and got the holy sprit, or so they say. I never really believed that they themselves were capable of reaching that status. My father is a very dedicated christian, he reads his bible and prays alot throughout the day. Never have i seen him speak in tounges or get the "Holy sprit". If anyone was capable of that happening to it would be him, I believe. Dont get me wrong I do believe GOD has the power to do those things, but I also think you have to be dedicated to the religion almost a saint to experience such things. I probably didnt answer your question, but maybe a little insight.
