Time travel

If somehow I create a closed timelike curve, thus allowing matter (let's say a person) to move from a point in the timeline to another, what will that person find?

Think of a bus (our universe) with passengers(us) traveling trough a road (time). If I step out of the bus and walk back to a previous point in the road, I will not find the bus there, because it is already at another point of that road.

Likewise, if a time traveler moves to a previous (or future) point in time, would there be anything at all (asides from the traveler's mass itself)?

I suggest you look through the thread:
"Is time travel possible?"

I think you'll find some explanations which will help you answer this...
