I have what I believe to be the actual handwritten General Lee's Lost Dispatch "Special Order 191"papers.Although I understand the enormity of this find if true,I cannot find the proper places to contact with this.Would anyone be willing to help me with resources ? Thank you

Simply send an email to the National Archives. Go to their U.S. Government site to look for departments which have Civil War information and check out "How to contact us"type menus. You could do the same for the Civil War Cenrter at Louisiana University. I believe their basic address is www.lsu.com

Sorry I can be more specific. I just don't remember the internet addresses.

Also The Library of Congress has an exc ellent site. And as previously noted, any major university history department has lists of Professors. Write A FEW of them one or two sentences asking where to have your material evaluated. SOME may dis the email or ignore it. Others will be more responsible. That's why I say sent the note you write to several Professors.

Please let me know what success you have. I will sniff around a bit to see if I can give you more firm advice.
