I have read fairly extensively about Atlantis. My question is do you think having read the discription that England may be Atlantis? In my mind I feel that Atlantis may have been a metaphor for the place rather used by Plato (Solon) rather than the name it was known by before Solons time.

There is no likelihood that altantis is England because many description told that altantis have an area that looks like england. but right now, there is new theory which states that Indonesia is atlantis. it was told by prof arysio santos, a professor from Brazil, that many landstructure that describe by Plato that looks like Indonesia. he told that atlantis was gone because there was a big tsunami that cause by mount krakatoa explosion strike atlantis 11.400 years ago that make the civilation gone from the world. many people always thougth that atlantis was in the deep atlantic ocean, but the fact is not. indonesia is now, was once the mountain peaks on the mainland atlantic that survived from the accident. the people of atlantis who survived from the accident spread over the world and become the people who lives right now all over the world.

if you want to know more about that, you can read the book "atlantis" which was written by prof arysio santos

I have read many books which claim they have found Atlantis in one part of the world or another but one which to me produces the most logical arguments is called "Where Troy once stood." By Professor Imam Wilkens. He does not claim England to be Atlantis but if you read the book you will see that there are connections with the Sea Peoples who invaded the Mediterranean basin around 1200BC. There are parts of the Atlantis narrative which almost exactly quote Homer when Plato describes the Phaeacians. See Jurgen Spanuth's book Atlantis of the North. Jurgen was close to the answer but confused the Greek civilisation with that of the Aechaeans as do many other people. Theories are theories and almost anyone can point to similarities of one part of the world or another. However factual evidence is the key and Where Troy once stood is stuffed with facts. I highly recommend you read this truly ground breaking book.
