I have been suffering for years with a condition called Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. I have had two sphincterotomies and had been symptom-free for nearly a year when the symptoms began again, except this time they were much more severe.
My question is: Could the hormone somatostatin be the cause of this? If so, is there a way to control this hormone so that I may lead a normal life?
If anyone knows anything about this hormone, and another one called CCK, please write back and provide your insight. Thank you so much in advance for attempting to help me.
