I have a dinky toy #148 ford fairlane in light green enamel. What i want to know about is... mine has a blue and white star tampo on the roof. I have not been able to locate this version in any of my refrence books. Does any one know anything about this version of this car???

According to Richardson's "Great Book of Dinky Toys" the color matches an issue available from 1962-1965. The casting was also used for #258 U.S.A. police car and #264 R.C.M.P. patrol car. (Royal Canadian Mounted Police.) The white star is a mystery. I think somebody just added it - there was a Ford military staff car with a white star (U.S. Army) but it was a different model. The police cars did not have starts on the roof - just a simulated flashing beacon. Hope this helps.
