I have a Model 70 LT in .338 Win Mag that is NIB. I've had it for 4-5 years and have started to handload ammo for it. In setting my dummy round to establich my distance off the rifling I noticed the bolt does not lock up tight on the round. The boly it loose in that is has movement back and forth at the bolt handle. I tried this with a live factory round and the same thing happens. I have 9 other Model 70's and this is the only one that does this. Could I have a head space problem in a new unfired rifle? The bolt had the last 4 numerials of the serial number on it as it should so it's the original factory bolt.

I'm just leary of firing it until I can understand what/why this is happening.
