I am studying a passage from pride and prejudice set at the netherfield ball when elizabeth accepts darcys offer to dance ( approx around p 92 of book) chapter 18. I need to demonstrate the use of free indirect speech in this passage and am struggling to find examples of it that arent just narration or indirect speech. I understand what free indirect speech is but cannot find an example in this passage ..any help would be fab as im slowly going mad... would the following be an example of F.I.S please..

amazed at the dignity to which she was arrived in being allowed to stand opposite to mr darcy..

Please can someone help and also what does using free indirect speech add to the meaning of this passage
