I AM TRYING TO DEVELOP A COMPUTER CODE IN FORTRAN LANGUAGE FOR THE AXIAL COMPRESSOR OF A TURBOJET ENGINE.I AM FACING A PROBLEM THAT I AM HAVING ONLY TWO INPUTS TO THE PROGRAM WHICH ARE AS FOLLOWING:
COMPRESSOR PRESSURE RATIO,COMPRESSOR INLET DIAMETER
I HAVE TO CALCULATE ALL OF THE REMAINING PARAMETERS JUST LIKE:
RPM,AIR ANGLES, BLADE ANGLES,PRESSURE AFTER EVERY STAGE,AXIAL VELOCITIES,MASS FLOW ETC
SO HELP ME IN DEVELOPING THE DIFFERENT RELATIONS TO FIND THE ABOVE PARAMETERS.

Isnt Fortran going back to the 70's, cuz that what we used in the Corps with our Ole OCR Scanners. Which reminds me, have you given thought of going PLC? You know, Progamable Logic Controlers. They handle Boolean Algerbra, Binary, Ladder Logic, the works. Whats great about progamming them is that you can go PC or handheld programers/ I/O devices heck even use a TexasInstruments Basic Calculators. I recommend you check out a book by Frank D Petruzella, 3rd/4th Edition. Should give you some great insights or at least direction towards a concise solution to your quandry. Cool?
Maj DJT, Capt Quawazie to those that knew me, back in the day.
p.s. I'm an Electrical Gen.Contr.with a current emphisis on
on massive Solar Conversions, trying to recoup and expand on Unka Sams incentives and rebates. I did some programing back in the Corps but we are talking early 70's dude. LaderLogic Be Da Bomb For Me.....

O yea, Zainoo, I asked my daughter, she just got out of the AirForce(9yrs)and happens to be real knowledgeable with Jet stuff (Shes a Jet Wrencher/Mechanic)Airman of the Year, Europe, 2009, if I may proudly add. She wnated to know how your going about monitoring your components and the So specificed parameters. Are you using Direct Input Sensors, remote sensing or the ole pressure/flow activated gate valves and tubes with wires?

I AM TRYING TO WRITE THE CODE IN FORTRAN 90 .I AM KNOWING QUITE A WELL ABOUT PROGRAMMING .BUT BASIC PROBLEM IS ABOUT HOW TO CALCULATE THE DIFFERENT MATHEMATICAL EXPRESSIONS THAT CAN BE USED TO GET THE PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS . I HAVE STUCKED IN CALCULATING THE PERFORMANCE PARAMETERS BY ONLY TWO INPUTS:
COMPRESSOR PRESSURE RATIO ,COMPRESSOR DIAMETER
MAIN REASON FOR SELECTING FORTRAN 90 IS THAT MOST OF THE AVIATION WORK IS DONE IN THIS LANGUAGE.........
