Hi, I am a sound engineer, currently working on a project about the role of hearing in driving safety. Basically, I am trying to find out the drivers' opinion on: how important is hearing in driving safety?

Although we primarily rely on vision when we drive, hearing is also essential in terms of the situation awareness and detecting potential dangers in the environment around us. However, to improve the interior quietness, modern cars are made more and more sound proof, which may affect the driver’s ability of promptly detecting the external warning sounds with ears.
