On Christmas morning we had a female and male bluebird sitting on the ground outside our door. I did not know if they had flown into the door and were stunned but this certainly was unusual. I sat next to the female and she allowed me to stroke her feathers. I alerted my fiance and he walked outside to see. Within a minute the male flew up into the tree. He picked up the female and she held tight with her talons as he moved her to a safer location. About 5 minutes later she flew away like nothing was the matter.

We have had bluebirds nesting on our property for years but have never experienced anything like this. Does anyone have answers?
