During the "War Between the States", the "North" or "Union" was receiving foreign aid due to it's industrialization. There were other countrys involved in our conflict, is this not true? And when the president of the North, President Lincoln, learned that the South was seeking support from foreign countries he wrote the Emancipation Proclamation bringing slavery as the main reason for the "Civil War", is this not true? When "Slavery" became the focus of the conflict and not "States Rights", didn't the Emancipation Proclamation stop foreign countries from aiding the South because the subject was one of humanity and no longer an issue of states rights?
