I'm new to angoras and nneed to know what type of bedding to use in his cage. I tried wood shavings and now he is covered in them! I plan to get him a cage with a wire bottom but until then.....
Also Is it ok to keep an angora rabbit outside with part of the cage enclosed? I live in Ct.
Thanks.

Hi Denise,

I'm also new to angoras, but I can offer something. I use Sunseed Fresh World Bedding with mine. It is compressed paper and looks like pellets. It comes out of the coat pretty easily though I noticed that the color (I like pink)has stained his foot pads. I would think any of the pelleted paper litters would work for outside. The Sunseed stuff has added baking soda so it helps with odor, which would probably not be a big deal if the bunny is outside.

On him being outside though, I would think weather could wreak havoc with an Angora coat. When I raised poodles for show, going out in the rain was a quick route to matting. I am loving having my rabbits inside. They are very entertaining, are used to noises and movement, and are bonding to me so much easier than when I had rabbits outside. They are litter trained too, so I can keep them in a carpeted cage. The carpet doesn't tear their hair, shows me when my Angora is shedding, and provides them with safe, sure footing.

Hmm, also, the bunny might not choose the wire area for his bathroom once he has the choice. He may choose his resting area.
