Public career

In 1985-1997 Segal served as a public representative for the Israeli Press Council and as a member of the ethics tribunal for the Israeli Press Council. He served as board member of the Israeli parliamentarism association and was a joint chairman for the Law and Society forum. Segal was one of the drafters of the Kinneret Covenant (אמנת כנרת) which seeks to create a common ground for various currents in Israeli society (right-left, religious-secular, etc.).
