History
Woodlin opened for the first time in 1945 for kindergarten through third grades. Students gave Woodlin its name, changing it from the "North Woodside School." By the 1950s, the county was integrating, and the all-black "Linden School" merged with Woodlin in 1955. Throughout its history the school was marked by expansion, growing from one building to three by 1970, with all three finally connected in 1984. The original mascot of the owl was replaced with the "Caring Pair," represented by two pears joined together; this was shared with the nearby "Woodside School" until it merged with Woodlin in 1982. Woodlin adopted its present mascot, the wizard, around this time. The 1990s marked the most recent expansion to the school, dedicated in 1990. By 2000, the school enrollment reached close to 600 students, a far cry from the original 95. Famous former pupils include comedian

School Song
The school song, composed by then-principal Ms. Kesser in the '90's, goes:
Let's go Woodlin Wizards are great.
We are the best, the best in the state.
These are our colors, the white and the blue.
To Woodlin, our school we'll always be true.
The skills we have learned will stay through the years.
Through all our lives and in our careers.
We'll remember our teachers, and all that they know.
Because they have taught us 'To learn is to grow.
Let's go Woodlin Wizards are great.
We are the best, the best in the state.
These are our colors, the white and the blue.
To Woodlin, our school we'll always be true.
