Controversy

Brooklyn has a record that goes back to 2005, including convictions for assaulting a peace officer, drunk driving and possessing a stolen firearm.

In January, 2007, Charlie Fettah was convicted of drug trafficking and tampering with a firearm’s serial number.

The group was photographed with NDP Premier Greg Selinger at the 2009 APCMA's, where Selinger is seen holding up a black bandana with the words Heatbag. On September 23rd, during a 2011 provincial elecetion the photo was brought to the public's attention and Selinger was critized by Conservative leader Hugh McFadyen saying, Not only is Mr. Selinger soft on crime, he’s oblivious to it. Selinger then defended himself saying had no idea who they were, personally
On October 4th, 2011 Brooklyn was arrested at an airport in Montreal as he boarded a plane for Winnipeg. A fight broke out between Brooklyn and another passenger over a pair of headphones, and the cops were called to the scene and Brooklyn and two other men he was traveling with were thrown off the flight and Brooklyn was charged with assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer, mischief and possesion of a weapon, described by police as a chain he was wearing as a necklace. Brooklyn was released on $3000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Montreal court December 13th 2011. He has a court date scheduled for September, 2012, on assault, uttering threats, weapons possession, mischief and several counts of failing to comply with previous court conditions, including a probation order.
Charlie Fettah was noticeably absent from 2011 APCMA's, later that night a Free Fettah campign started on Facebook
