Encyclopedia
West Jordan High School is a high school located in West Jordan, Utah. It opened in 1981 and is located southwest of Salt Lake City and is home of just over 2000 students. The mascot is the jaguar. The men's varsity basketball team won the 2001 state championship, as well as the 2009 State championship against Lone Peak, the two-time defending champion. Even more impressive than West Jordan's reputation in sports is its arts program. West Jordan has one of the largest choir programs of any public school in the state, with record enrollment of over 300 students. In the school year of 09-10 the WJHS choirs, under the direction of Kelly DeHaan, took first place in San Diego, California during the Heritage Festivals sponsored Choir Tour. ==Notable alumni== *Travis Hall '90, NFL player *Olesya Rulin '05 High School Musical as Kelsi Nielsen ==External links== *West Jordan High School Jordan high schools Utah
