History

http://www.wesleyinstitute.edu.au/wi/About_Us/Brief_History.asp

Wesley Institute was founded in 1989 on the premise that synergies generated from blending visual, performing, and other forms of applied arts with theological and biblical studies can inform, enrich, innovate, transform and empower Christian life, leadership, ministry and service in a variety of professional, community, educational, artistic and other situations. The Institute has been a highly successful pioneer in designing and implementing academic courses predicated on creative ministry concepts, and its models have been adopted by other Christian education providers.

In addition to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Theology and the Creative Arts, the Institute also offers postgraduate qualifications in Counselling and Pre-service Teacher Education which have each extended the scope of Christian provision in these professions in Australia.

Government accreditation was granted in 1992.
