Club career

A much sought after defender after a successful spell with first Slavia, then subsequently Sparta, Prague saw the left back touted around Europe to several teams including PSV of Holland. He eventually moved to West Ham United F.C.

Unfortunately his time in England was not a successful one. Lacking match fitness initially, he was injured in a game against Fulham and struggled to adjust to the pace of the Premiership. The following season his lack of fitness was still evident, and he was shunned even as the club fell into a relegation battle. In December he rejoined Sparta Prague on loan, and eventually re-signed with them the following summer.
