Firmware over the air (FOTA)

The handset was one of Verizon's first to offer automatic updates of the handset's operating system software using firmware over the air (FOTA) technology. Whereas formerly, customers would have to dial *228 to manually run updates, this handset features a "special offering" mode complete with a notice beep and a countdown clock, warning the user of the automated imminent update.

Replacement

The G'zOne Boulder was replaced by the G'zOne Rock on November 30, 2009. This phone continues offering the same features as the Boulder.

Camera

The phone includes a desktop cradle that stands into an phone upright position. The handset has a still and video camera on its top edge.
