Verity is the first musician in South Africa
to sell her CD's before the CD's existed. Verity's web team developed a transaction facility on her website. 'Future Owners' bought enough of her CD's for Verity to fund the production of her album. Over 2000 people in 25 countries bought the CD, without guarantee of their investment being realised. 10.6% of every sale was given to two South African charities (POWA empowering women and the Live Your Dreams Foundation funding up and coming artists) and by the time the album was recorded over R30,000 had been contributed.
Verity is the first artist in South Africa to achieve a self-funded project of this nature. Verity has bucked the trend of signing up to a major record label and is the first person in South Africa to do this.
Verity's album, named “Journey” by her fans, was recorded with award winning producers Paul McIver & Brian O'Shea and was released in July 2008. The story has been broadcast as Virtual Verity on M-NET's
