Major industries in Venus include citrus growing and cattle raising. The community has an all-volunteer fire department. It also boasts Camp Mars, one of few gay campgrounds in the state and a general store. Due to the availability of 1-acre (0.4 ha) mobile home sites in the area, Venus has recently attracted a growing, diverse population.
