'''Van Pelt Elementary School''', located in [[Bristol, Virginia]], is part of the Bristol Virginia [[public school (government funded)|Public School]] system. The school was built in 1975 and was named after Joseph B. Van Pelt who was superintendent in the 1960s.
There are grades 1-5 including [[kindergarten]] and [[pre-kindergarten]]. In 2010, there were approximately 400 children in the school.
Suncrest Park is on the campus of this school with trees and wildlife. The school is actually on a cave which was filled in when the school was built. There is also is a grave marker for Miss Jones who lived on the campus about 100 years ago.
