It is broadcast from 2 AM to 3 AM ET, with rebroadcasts through 6 AM local time, depending on the station (though most CBS stations end Up to the Minute at 4:30 a.m. with the CBS Morning News airing after it). However, the majority of CBS stations do not air the program in its entirety and join the program in progress five minutes to as much as 1½ hours after the start of the newscast, due to local programming.

The show's graphics and set were traditionally several years behind that of the daytime broadcasts, with early-1990s era CBS graphics being used well past the year 2000. These graphics were updated in 2006
