The United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works is responsible for dealing with matters related to the environment and infrastructure. Committee is chaired by Democrat Barbara Boxer of California and the Ranking Minority Member is Republican James Inhofe of Oklahoma. Effective with the 110th Congress, the number of subcommittees has been expanded from four to six, with the creation of the Subcommittee on Public Sector Solutions to Global Warming, Oversight, Children's Health Protection and Nuclear Safety and the Subcommittee on Transportation Safety, Infrastructure Security, and Water Quality.
