. In year 2004, however, UNHREP moved out of New Zealand to become a global Human Rights institution holding offices worldwide. To reflect the change the project was renamed from "UNHREP–New Zealand" to "UNHREP–Global."

Its mission was broadened at that time: UNHREP became an International Relations and Human Rights Institution, which serves the purpose of addressing human rights violations whenever and wherever they happen. Additionally, UNHREP offers International Relations
