By mid-2010, the Avalon Apartment building has been completed and rented out, bus-only lanes in front of the station are complete, the station now has a beautiful tree-lined main promenade and many condominium housing units have been completed on the East side of the BART tracks and sold. There is currently no connection to other regional trains at Union City BART station. The BART station building facade has enjoyed a completely renovated and overhauled facelift which lends it an airy feeling similar to SFO station and SFO airport.
