Turkish Federated State of Cyprus in Turkish. The state which is occurred between 1975 and 1983.

The UN General Secretary came to Cyprus on 25–26 December 1974, and demanded that bilateral talks be initiated between the two communities. After the Temporary Turkish Cypriot Administration was declared on 28 December 1967, the second phase was put into effect on 13 February 1975 with the declaration of the Turkish Federal Republic of Cyprus.

The foundation declaration of the Turkish Federal Republic of Cyprus which was declared on 13 February 1975 was announced by the Chairman of the Administration Rauf Denktaş in the Autonomous Turkish Administration Assembly of Cyprus.

Establishment of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

In 1975 the "Turkish Federative State of Cyprus" was declared as a first step towards a future federated Turkish Cypriot state, but was rejected by the Republic of Cyprus, the UN, and the international community. After eight years of failed negotiations between the Greek and Cypriot Turkish community, the North declared its independence on November 15, 1983 under the name of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This unilateral declaration of independence was rejected by the UN and the Republic of Cyprus.

In recent years the politics of reunification has dominated the island's affairs. It was hoped that Cyprus's planned accession into the European Union

 would act as a catalyst towards a settlement, and in 2004 a United Nations–brokered peace settlement was presented in a referendum to both sides. The proposed settlement was opposed by both the president of Cyprus, Tassos Papadopoulos

; in the referendum, 64.90% of people in the Turkish Federal Republic of Cyprus accepted the proposal, but rejected by 75.83% of people in the Republic of Cyprus. As a result, Cyprus entered the European Union as a divided island, with Northern Cyprus effectively excluded. Denktaş resigned in the wake of the vote, ushering in the pro-solutionist Mehmet Ali Talat
