Career as independent video producer and activist

Dougherty started posting videos online under the pseudonym "maddogza" in 2007 and was YouTube's youngest "guest editor," moderating YouTube's featured videos for several days, before becoming one of the first official members of YouTube's Partner Program. In 2008, Dougherty used social networking and low-cost marketing to organize a world record attempt in Ithaca, New York
