. It was also their first album to be released on CD. Later, two songs from the album would be released on the band's greatest hits album.
The writing for "Ticked" began in the summer of 1994. Early on, the album was decided to mainly parody alternative music. Although many previous ApologetiX parodies had told specific Bible stories, many of the new parodies on "Ticked" addressed Biblical issues (suicide, atheism, evolution, hypocrisy, the end of the world, separation of church and state, etc.) It took three years for momentum to build for the album to be recorded, and while some of the songs written endured, some didn't, and new ones were added, but the title stayed.
