The Temptations
The Temptations is an American vocal group having achieved fame as one of the most successful acts to record for Motown Records. The group's repertoire has included, at various times during its five-decade career, R&B, doo-wop, funk, disco, soul, and adult contemporary music.Formed in Detroit,...

for the Gordy (Motown) label. The album was the group's final release from its original Motown tenure; the Temptations terminated their Motown contract during the recording of this album. As a result, while the group enjoyed the greatest creative control of their career, producing and writing most of the tracks, the album received virtually no promotional support from Motown, who saw little point investing in a group that was on its way out of their doors.

The quality of the music itself is a little uneven, but there are some excellent songs, including one of Glenn Leonard's finest lead vocals on "Is There Anybody Else," and excellent performances from Dennis Edwards on "Who Are You (and What Are You Doing With The Rest Of Your Life)," and "I'll Take You In."
