Critical Reception

The season has received generally mixed to negative reviews. Mark Oakley of Den of Geek said that "Once the programmes had a heart, as viewers were taken on a journey with the show’s characters. Here instead episodes are loaded with ever wackier and zanier gags" and said that "The Simpsons has well and truly jumped the shark".
