, new lands were handed over to the jurisdiction of Ramat Gan, then under mayor Avraham Krinitzi. The mayor initiated the park's planting in 1951. It finally opened to the public in 1953. In 1959, an artificial lake was created in the park, which was initially small but slowly grew to its current size between 1959 and the 1970s.
