Although teacher education has been offered since the university’s founding in 1904, the School itself officially started in 1909.

Departments

Three departments make up the School of Education and Human Development. The largest department, Counseling/Human and Organizational Studies, offers teacher certification, masters, and Ph.D. programs. The Department of Educational Leadership has 12 areas of specialization.
