The book has been given several false release dates and is listed on the Barnes & Noble website and amazon.com as having been published on January 1, 2006. Despite this information, the book has not been written yet.

The second volume of the trilogy was published in 1997. However, numerous health and personal issues have prevented Rawn from finishing the third book. In 2003, she claimed to have started writing The Captal's Tower, but warned that it takes her anywhere from 18 months to 5 years to finish a book.

In January 2007, it was announced in a forum post on her website that her next book will be Spellbinder 2. The status of her progress on Captal's Tower is currently unknown.
